Support Policy

Due to the overwhelming number of printers that are or have been at one time available on the market, it is not possible for Eclipse to certify or provide technical support for every possible printer configuration. For the benefit of customers that wish to have the most reliable printing and support experience, we have provided a list of printers below that our customers have found to be compatible for Eclipse printing. We have also provided general requirements for customers who are searching for a printer for use with Eclipse, which you can use when researching new printers.

Printer requirements are more stringent for customers using the “legacy” forms process, where print jobs are drafted in Eclipse and sent directly to each printer in their native print language (i.e. PCL). If a customer using “legacy” forms contacts support with questions regarding a printer that has not previously been reported as compatible with Eclipse, we may request that you replicate the issue on a printer known to be compatible with Eclipse, or recommend that you contact the manufacturer for technical support.

The newer Eclipse Forms document generation technology uses Formscape software and can print to nearly any Windows-compatible printer. If a customer is having an issue with any Formscape printer, we will request that they verify that the printer can print a test page from Windows. If they are unable to print a test page from Windows, we will request that they work with the printer hardware vendor to resolve the issue prior to further troubleshooting.

FAQ

HOW DO I PRINT A CONFIGURATION PAGE FROM HP LASERJET PRINTERS?

Please refer to this page.

Where should I purchase printers?

If you are purchasing a printer that is not on the customer-provided list above, please make sure to purchase it from a vendor with a liberal return policy, so that you can return the printer if it turns out to be incompatible with Eclipse. We have heard good feedback about vendors such as Amazon and Staples for this reason.
