I bought SNES Classic and i'm tring to figure out if it's a fake (Mega Man X has weird bugs). The serial number starts with CU, is that the correct prefix? Created 02:56 PM Edited 07:22 A. The SNES Mini and 1CHIP consoles output a much higher quality signal then the older SNES revisions. This page explains the differences. Please read on for more information: A Brief History of the SNES Revisions: While there is only one board revision of the SNES Mini, the original Super Nint.
Thanks for the info. I started to look up every serial number from ebay (lol) and found this thread: http://forums.ebay.com/db1/topic/Video- ... 5100083500So several questions I have from reading this:
1) Is it true that ALL SNES consoles within a serial number range 'between UN318299752 and UN321238373' have the 1CHIP?
2) Regarding post #6, is it true that the second revision of the 1CHIP (1CHIP-02 versus 01 and 03) really eliminates the vertical bar or does the revision actually not even matter?
Nintendo Serial Number Meaning
Definitely looking into the SNES mini option as well (with RGB) but that is definitely a much more expensive route. As part of some general SNES research I am doing, I am trying to catalogue serial codes for SNES items. I've attached an image of the label of NHL 94, with the serial code circled (SNSP-4H-UKV). The serial code on cart labels should be on the bottom left or bottom right part of the label (on Japanese games, they can be pretty much anywhere, though). For manuals, the serial code is on the top right of the front of the manual. For boxes, the serial code is on the small flaps. I would appreciate any serial codes that people can provide!
